***Due to a major lack in volunteer participation this season SWRRA has no choice but to raise the Volunteer Deposit for the upcoming 2012/2013 season to $300 for a minimum of 4 hours of volunteer time per child up to a max of 12 hours per family.
We are looking for individuals who are interested in helping with a Gym Ringette demonstration sessions. Volunteers go in groups to local Surrey Schools and demonstrate the sport of Ringette in the Gym. We have Gym Ringette equipment for demonstration. It is a fun, interaction information session for school kids to learn about the great sport of Ringette. Schools can then purchase their own Gym Ringette equipment.
Message from the CRC 2012 Tournament Committee.....
Hello Presidents,
This is my first call out to the ringette community for volunteers to support the Canadian Ringette Championships 2012 . Please forward this request directly to managers and coaches in your association as they often have the most direct relationship with parents and older players.

AVAILABLE VOLUNTEER HOURS
There are no positions available at this time, but check back soon for information regarding our tournament.
Please check back here and check your emails often for volunteer opportunities within our association and note that a minimum of four hours time is required PER PLAYER per season.
Minor sports rely on volunteer hours to run. Four hours is a minimum guideline, feel free to contribute more! Take note that if the minimum requirement is not met your volunteer cheque will be cashed at the end of the season.
Many opportunities arise throughout the year and you will be able to find something to fit your schedule. Older players may volunteer themselves but for the younger ones parent time will be required.
Just a few of the volunteering opportunities that arise throughout the year are:- Come Try Ringette Sessions – on ice and registrations
- Whalley Festival in June – manning booth, informing public about ringette and possibly demonstrations
- Fleetwood Festival in September - manning booth, informing public about ringette and possibly demonstrations
- Spring Ringette – on ice
- Warm-up/Skills Camp in August – on ice and registrations
- Evaluations in September – evaluators
- Photo Day in October
- Santa Skate in December – arranging hot chocolate, timbits, candy canes, music, Santa
- Tournaments –anytime- 50/50, raffle table, registration, rink manager, etc.
- Washing the jerseys at the end of the season
- AGM – help with registration, child-minding, arranging food delivery
Please note that the time that you are asked to put in with your child’s team ie. bench mom (bunnies only), scorekeeping/timekeeping/shot clock is not considered volunteer time. This is something parents are expected to do on a rotating basis to keep involved and to cut down our association costs. Your kids will love to see you helping out!
